It's officially that time of year where the holiday feasting and celebrations have come to a close (sigh of relief) and the sunshine-filled day dreams overwhelm our thoughts. To help you (and ourselves) stay sane through Nor'Easters, frigid winds and snow days, the Toci girls are letting everyone in on their cozy, little secrets. A little insight to each of our own unique, personal ways we stay cozy through yet another chilly east coast winter season.
Toci girl Keiko:
It's not easy being a New Englander with a Hawaiian soul, particularly January through May. Keiko was born in paradise aka Oahu, Hawaii. It wasn't long before her parents moved back to the east coast. Even though she spent most of her years enduring Massachusetts winters filled with record breaking snow and wind chills, she still wishes for the white, sandy beaches every time that first snowflake falls. But she has learned to make the best of it and embraces some snowy activities that help her stay cozy until her skin is sun-kissed again come June.
Favorite snow day activity: couple bottles of wine, few of my closest girlfriends, lots of snacks and Cards Against Humanity (or Watch Your Mouth)
Hike a mountain or ski a mountain: Definitely hike. My parents recently bought a place in Killington and I really loved being there in the summer. However, snowmobiling up and down the mountain was pretty cool, too!
Warm destination dream getaway: Hale'iwa, Hawaii. It's an absolutely breathtaking town on the North Shore. Best sunsets and shaved ice I've ever experienced.
Go to snowed in movie choice: any and all Harry Potter movies
Bingeworthy show at the moment: Well, I recently hopped on the Game of Thrones bandwagon (and finished all six seasons astronomically fast) so now that I've caught up with that, I'm thinking of restarting Grey's Anatomy (for the fifth time).
Fav Toci find at the moment: Oats cashmere Estella sweater! Mock turtlenecks are my all-time fav at the moment, and the side slits make it such a flattering silhouette, paired with a pair of dark jeans and some boots and I'm ready to rock any cold temps!
